Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. A BIM is a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life cycle.

We regret to announce that our beloved collegue, Dr. Mónika Tünde Hajpál, cert. civil engineer, Head of Fire Protection Laboratory, passed away tragically sudden at age of 41 on 12 March 2014.

PIME’S project in Szentendre succesfully organised its conference on 21 November 2013. In the new headquarter of ÉMI Non-profit Llc more than 100 participants could hear presentations about different sustainable retrofitting projects.

PIME’S project in Szentendre arrived to a great milestone on 10 May, namely the ÉMI Knowledge Centre of Construction was officially opened by Sára Hegmanné Nemes (Minister of State for State Property). During a guided tour guests could meet the bioclimatic designed innovative elements of the building. An exhibition in the hall of the building gave a wider overview about the CONCERTO initiatives and the PIME’S.

The Buildings Performance Institute Europe - dedicated to improving the energy performance of buildings across Europe - has produced a guide to develop renovation strategies which will help the EU Member States develop the first version of their renovation strategies to be published by April 30th 2014.

A change in strategy can result in project success in tough economic times, as a conference on renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in the construction industry has shown. Twenty-two coordinators for CONCERTO projects subsidised by the EU came to the Brussels conference to share their experiences.

After almost a year of preparatory work and negotiations, the Central Europe Programme launched its project in January 2012. The project is called "Demonstration of energy efficiency and utilization of renewable energy sources through public buildings".
